Highstreet staple, the New Inn, located in the seaside town of Hornsea, is set to reopen on 22nd March following a £180,000 investment into the site. As part of the renovation and reopening, the pub joins the Craft Union Pub Company family.

Alongside a full interior refurbishment, including the addition of a brand-new back bar, the pub is also proud to introduce an exciting new range of premium drink products, including Birra Moretti, Peroni and Cruzcampo.

Guests can now also enjoy the New Inn’s newly created darts area to try their hand at some friendly competition with friends and locals alike. The traditional pub, which is well known for its community and sports focus, has also benefitted from the installation of HD TVs for enhanced viewing across the venue. Now fully equipped with Sky Sports and TNT, the New Inn is the place to be for all upcoming sports viewing in Hornsea.

Ryan Whitehead, who has worked in the pub and hospitality industry since the age of 18, has been the operator of the New Inn for more than eight years and has become a key figure in the Hornsea community over the past decade.

Ryan, Operator at the New Inn commented: “Since taking over the New Inn in late 2015, I have been passionate about transforming the pub into a thriving establishment that places the community at the core of all we do. Our regulars will be pleased to hear that our programme of weekly activities and events will be reinstated once we open, and new faces are more than welcome to come down to the pub and join in, we’ve got something for everyone!”

He added: “The New Inn has been my life and my home for nearly a decade, and I feel very privileged to partner with Craft Union and look forward to sharing the pub’s improvements with the wonderful Hornsea community.”

Ryan first started out as a wine waiter at a private club in Bradford at 18 before progressing into an exciting career as a karaoke DJ for more than 30 years alongside his full-time job. Ryan’s first glimpse into the world of pub management came when he was asked to manage his local pub when the landlady was away. Here, he learnt all aspects of the pub trade and fell in love with the industry. Since 2008, Ryan has operated a variety of pubs of his own, before settling into the New Inn, where he is now in his ninth year.

The New Inn is well-known in the community for its weekly events schedule, which has also been uplifted, and includes pool on Monday evenings, quiz night on Tuesdays and motorcycle meeting on Wednesdays. Guests are also invited to the venue for poker and ladies’ darts on Thursdays, karaoke on Friday and Sunday and live entertainment every Saturday.

Guests are invited to join the New Inn’s launch party celebrations taking place from Friday 5th to Sunday 7th April. For more information, please visit the pub’s website or Facebook page.
