Sunday 11th February

12pm-3pm

Beloved community hub, The Southfield in Middlesborough, is teaming up with local charity Maxi’s Mates this Sunday the 11th of February for a pawsome doggy speed dating event to raise vital funds for the charity and give dogs from the rehoming centre a chance to get adopted!

From 12pm until 3pm, guests will be able to bring their dogs down to The Southfield to enjoy a delicious puppaccino, take photos with their proud paw-rents in the photobooth on offer and socialise with other keen furry friends. On top of this, Maxi’s Mates are bringing four adorable pooches looking for their fur-ever home to the event and will be set up on tables with ‘dating profiles’ for customers looking to add a new four-legged friend to their family.

Alongside this, The Southfield will also be holding a raffle where the prize is a Valentine’s themed doggy hamper, with proceeds going directly to Maxi’s Mates to support the incredible work they do in helping abandoned and stray dogs in the local area.

Maxi’s Mates is a charity dedicated to raising awareness and rehoming stray and abandoned dogs regardless of their age, breed, or gender. Since being set up in 2012, Maxi’s Mates have helped rescue thousands of dogs to then get reunited with owners and rehomed. The funds raised from the doggy dating event will help volunteers carry on providing healthcare and support to the strays they rescue.

Deputy Manager Hannah Sowerby said: “We can’t wait to host doggy dating and give four incredible dogs a second chance at a loving home. This event is a chance for the local community to get together for a lively doggy day to fundraise for such an important cause. Myself along with the rest of the team can’t wait to see as many people – along with their four legged friends – there as possible!”
