The Lord of the Manor in Cramlington recently welcomed local MP Ian Levy following a £300,000 investment earlier this year by the award-winning Craft Union Pub Company.

The MP for Blyth Valley was greeted by Operators Mark and Bridget Byrne and the pub team, who were able to tell him all about their recent investment and community activity as well as discuss any local issues.

Ian was given a tour of the pub with Mark and Bridget highlighting all the new additions and features including, new furniture and lighting inside and out as well as new HD TV screens all installed with Sky Sports and TNT Sports.

Mark and Bridget were also keen to inform Mr Levy about their community engagement, providing local customers with a variety of brilliant entertainment and fundraising initiatives. The pub’s weekly entertainment schedule was refreshed during the investment and offers guests the opportunity to watch live sports and participate in quiz nights and live music nights. Mark and Bridget are also very supportive of the local community and expressed to Ian how they are always looking for ways to support local and national causes.

Mark commented: “It was great to host Ian for the afternoon and show him around our amazing community pub. We thoroughly enjoyed talking to him about our recent investment and how we engage with the locals. Our refurbishment has truly benefited the business, and love welcoming old and new faces into the pub.”

As well as speaking about the pub’s investment and position in the Cramlington community, Mark, Bridget and Ian were able to discuss local issues including employment opportunities. Ian informed the husband-and-wife duo of an upcoming recruitment day he is hosting, with the opportunity for apprenticeships to be communicated with residents. This was of interest to Mark and Bridget and they were keen to support in any way.

Bridget said: “The local community is very important to us at the Lord of the Manor, and it was nice talking about the potential career opportunities available to those in the area. Ian was very supportive when we were talking about the local area and is keen to support in the best way possible with future issues.”

Ian Levy MP said: “I am pleased to have been invited to the Lord of the Manor and meet with Mark, Bridget, and the team. The work that was carried out during the refurbishment has provided the venue with a brilliant new look and has really enhanced the customer offering. I wish Mark and Bridget the best for the future and cannot wait to visit again.”
