The biggest change to Burgess Hill town centre has happened!

In a matter of just weeks, the old Jacobs Post has been completely transformed into the Block andamp; Gasket, a premium food and drink venue, which opened on Friday night (4th March) after a £250,000 investment.

Stonegate Pub Company revealed plans in the middle of February and has cheered up residents of Burgess Hill by delivering an exceptional venue without further ado, creating 22 new jobs in the process.

The transformation is to be seen, to be believed. Stylish décor oozing artisan and craft presents rustic overtones, warm atmosphere, eclectic mix of environments and interesting artwork. The hospitality and offer is equally enticing.

Experienced General Manager Tony Begley said: “The Block and Gasket is a really exciting concept. We are offering above and beyond anything else that is available in Burgess Hill with a plus one service. Our enthusiastic staff have been training over the last few weeks to make sure what we deliver makes people want to come back.”

When asked what’s new, the answer was ‘everything!’

Cask and craft beer stand proud with ten on trend products such as Shipyard, Hophouse 13, Meantime and Brewdog IPA, all available at £2.95 on crafty Monday, whilst the rotational cask ale range includes London Pride as well as supporting local breweries. Crafted cocktails – two-for-one on Thursdays – gins, world lagers, cider, ice cold smoothies and frappuccinos, and coffee broaden the appeal from business lunches to leisurely post work drinks, and weekend partying.

Artisan hand stretched, stone baked pizzas is what the venue say they will be famous for, with house signature ‘American Hot!’ for spice lovers, Duck, Chicken and Chorizo or just simple Margherita amongst the huge range. The menu also includes great sharers, grills, burgers, salads and pub food. There’s plenty of offers to try – two-for-one pizza Tuesdays, burger with a free craft pint Wednesdays or two meals for £9.49 all day every day.

On the subject of Sunday lunch, Tony said: “We are definitely sticking with the traditional roast! It’s a craft in itself and with great cuts of meat, fresh vegetables, hearty helping of roasties, Yorkshire puds and gravy, our customers can be safe in the knowledge it is definitely here to stay!” As day turns into evening, there is also the Sunday quiz to look forward to.

The Block andamp; Gasket is promising to be the best place to watch sport with Sky and BT sports showing on big screens throughout the pub, including outdoors, in the beautifully and newly lit garden.

Friday and Saturday nights are set to be huge with evening DJ’s offering a great music line-up until 2am.
