Yates Liverpool has officially reopened its doors following a major six-figure refurbishment, bringing a refreshed look, upgraded sports experience and new food and drink offering to the popular Queen Square venue.

The city centre bar reopened on Wednesday 19 August, with guests now able to experience the newly transformed space, which includes a huge 100-inch TV, upgraded audiovisual technology and new dedicated pool and darts areas.

The reopening celebrations are continuing throughout the week, with guests able to get their hands on free fish and chips on Friday, alongside live music from 7pm.

Liverpool FC legend John Barnes will then make a special appearance at Yates on Sunday 23 August, joining fans ahead of Liverpool’s Premier League clash with Newcastle.

Fans will have the chance to meet the former Liverpool star and pose for photos before seeing him get behind the bar to pour a pint. Barnes will also take part in a live pre-match Q&A before settling in to watch the game alongside supporters.

The refurbishment has introduced two pool tables and two digital dartboards, while the refreshed interior includes increased dining space and more comfortable soft furnishings.

Guests can watch live sport across Sky Sports, TNT Sports, Premier Sports and selected Amazon Prime and pay-per-view events, with the new 100-inch screen forming the centrepiece of the upgraded sports offering.

The reopening also marks the launch of Yates Liverpool’s new Sunday roast menu, alongside its existing food and drink offers including weekday lunches from £8, 2-for-1 cocktails and spritzes and Bottomless Brunch.

Wade Zammit, General Manager at Yates Liverpool, said: “It’s fantastic to have the doors back open and welcome everyone into the new-look Yates.

“We’re really pleased with the transformation and can’t wait for people to experience everything we’ve introduced. There’s plenty happening over the next few days too, from our fish and chip giveaway on Friday to welcoming John Barnes on Sunday, so it’s a brilliant weekend to come down and see the new venue for yourself.”

Originally opening in Queen Square in 1998 following the closure of the historic Yates’s Wine Lodge on Moorfields, Yates Liverpool has been part of the city’s hospitality scene for more than 25 years.

The latest investment builds on previous refurbishments in 2011 and 2016, helping the venue continue to evolve while retaining its place in the heart of the city.
