Stonegate Pub Company’s North division presented Dementia UK with a cheque for a £57,321 at their annual Christmas conference on Thursday 14th July.

Stonegate directors dressed up as Scrooge, maintaining the Christmas conference tradition, as they presented Dementia UK with the cheque at Pub Zoo (one of Stongate’s largest managed houses in the North) in Manchester.

Jack Calvert, Dementia UK said “ We are honoured and thrilled that Stonegate pubs chose us as their charity. The donation will make a significant difference to families who are living with Dementia. We can’t thank them enough”.

To give the fundraising that final push, Head Office and field teams took part in circumnavigating the far from flat island of Anglesey in Wales. They covered 100km on bikes on the 6th and 7th of July just a week before the conference, not only a physical but also a mental challenge.

This was just one of the multiple fundraisers 124 pubs took part in across the North division. Ten pubs raised over £1,000 each, the highest being £2,512 at the Lost Dene in Manchester who used sport games’ sweepstakes to raise the cash.

Along with celebrating the team’s successes this year so far, the conference was a time for Stonegate to prepare for what aims to be their busiest Christmas yet.
