Offering all the authenticity of a beautiful harbour pub scene, urban sophistication, and the ultimate party atmosphere, Weymouth harbour side has been given the ultimate venue.
Local landmark ‘Rendezvous’ has been developed with an investment of £550,000 both embracing the original coastline pub whilst diversely creating a hipster bar and suave nightclub – three ‘stories’ under one roof. Nine new jobs have also been created.
The venue reopened on Friday 24th February, where local musician Lauren Bannon followed by five-piece band Peacock Suit provided the perfect acoustic backdrop to the ambience set by sheer genius design, as tasters of craft beer, cocktails, prosecco and tapas show off the on trend offer.
“We’re expecting to see customers move from floor to floor as their mood or occasion dictates”, said General Manager and chairman of Weymouth Pubwatch Keith Treggiden.
“Pubgoers need diversity – it’s about being able to relax with brunch; party with friends; or socialise in a premium environment – and our customers will literally be able to drift from floor to floor doing just that.”
The journey starts in the traditional pub, aptly restored to its original name ‘The Anchor.’ Locally brewed ales; pizza and tapas; and both BT and Sky sports across 5 HD screens; create the charm – a haven for real pub and sports lovers.
Introducing the latest pub trends, transcend into Rendezvous, by definition the perfect meeting place with its transformed, reclaimed and industrialised feel befitting the social scene. Eight craft beers; three cask ales; seven deadly botanically infused gins; and 2-4-1 cocktails everyday 5-11pm have taken the drinks range to a new level. Street food is extensive with ten stonebaked pizzas 2-4-1 every Thursday, tapas such as bravitas and garlic prawns, and 21-day aged burgers served in brioche bun. Pub favourites include premium Sunday lunches with premium cuts of meat and locally sourced seasonal vegetables.
Fizz Friday, live music with local bands, weekend party anthems until 4am with free entry, and pub quiz create more occasions to visit.
Finally, Chinese for ‘the way’, ‘DAO’ is definitely how to end a night. With a name illustrative of its Pan Asian theme, the chic, sophisticated, nightclub in vibrant purple with neon lights matches the upbeat atmosphere – Weymouth’s big night out.
