Every journey starts with one step and on Sunday 18th May, Stonegate Pub Company launches Britain’s Biggest Pub Tour (BBPT). It will commence at Yates’s in Hastings and undertake a journey that will span hundreds of miles.

The award-winning Stonegate Pub Company has organised fund-raising events galore across its 623 pubs and bars stretching from the Isle of Wight to Inverness. The event to raise money for Variety, the Children’s Charity, will see a BBPT passport journey throughout the UK visiting each Stonegate business.

The launch party celebrating the start of the Tour takes place at Yates’s on Robertson Street at 10am with a Family Fun Day featuring soap star hunks from Emmerdale including Anthony Quinlan, Mike Parr and Adam Thomas.

The Family Fun Day will also feature face-painting, balloon modelling, Mickey and Minnie Mouse characters as well as entertainers performing uni-cycling, fire juggling and acrobatics.Jack Sparrow pirate look-a-likes will provide opportunities for photos. Families will also be able to participate in learning the tricks of the circus and all the entertainment will be accompanied by the music of a steel band.

The passport departs at 4.00pm for the first leg that will take in the towns along the south coast including Brighton, Hove, Portsmouth, Bournemouth and Southampton. Other events planned include a boat party at the Ferry Boat Inn, Hayling Island, and Zoorb ball kicking on the beach at the Slug and Lettuce in Bournemouth.

“This will be our biggest charity fund-raising initiative to date and we are looking forward to raising thousands of pounds to make the lives of many families and their children that little bit easier. We also hope that our 12,000 strong team of fundraisers and our fantastic customers have a great time along the way!” said Toby Smith, Chief Executive, Stonegate Pub Company.

As part of the fundraising 50p from the sale of special Charity tipples, Strawberry Pimm’s or a pint of specially brewed real ale, The Crawler (Golden Blonde ale 4.1 ABV) will be donated to the Variety, the Children’s Charity.

The passport will spend the next four months on tour around the country culminating with a spectacular party at Slug and Lettuce, Tower Bridge on Friday 26 September.
