Ye Olde Mail Coach, Conwy, and the pub’s local community have raised over £4,700 during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, in aid of local charity Tenovus.
Last month, Ye Olde Mail Coach pub’s locals, Debbie Craven and Rachel Rogers organised and took part in fundraising activities to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, encouraging the local community of Conwy to get involved. Part of their fundraising involved Debbie, Rachel, and more customers of the pub, Mair Evans and Michelle Crocker, abseiling down 120 feet drop at Breakwater Country Park, Holyhead.
The pub, which is part of the multi-award winning Craft Union Pub Company, hosted a charity night on the return of their customers completing their abseil. The night celebrated the customers’ brilliant achievement and allowed the fundraising to continue into the evening with donations from all local businesses and a raffle, where Luke Williams who works with local charities arranged an array of prizes for those taking part. Also, there was a sponsored head shave by one of Operator Tracey’s team, Debbie Summers, shaving her head raising further money.
Tracey Hughes, Operator of Ye Olde Mail Coach said: “It has been amazing to see the local community come together for such an important cause. I want to congratulate my amazing customers who abseiled and organised the fundraising, it was a pleasure to be able to support them and celebrate their achievement. Also, a big well done to Debbie in my team for her brave head shave. Our customers have raised a phenomenal amount of money during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and it would not be possible without the local community and businesses coming together and backing this cause.”
Breast Cancer Awareness Month took place in October and aims to raise awareness around breast cancer as well as uplifting women going through this. Tracey and the local community of Conwy are continuing to support Tenovus with further fundraising initiatives during the festive season.
