Community hub, Yates in Torquay, will reopen today as a Craft Union venue following a £97,000 investment into the site. As part of its reopening, the pub will be hosting an action-packed grand launch weekend party between 24thand 26th May, just in time for the Spring Bank Holiday fun.

Yates Torquay is situated within a grand historic Georgian building, nestled into the Torquay harbour. The seafront site is popular amongst locals, students and tourists alike and sports a dancefloor, ample indoor seating and an outdoor area for guests to enjoy a drink or two whilst making the most of the sea breeze.

The investment into the site has brought Yates Torquay into the Craft Union family fold and sees the addition of a designated top of the range darts area and a new pool table for guests to try their hand at some friendly competition. The venue also reopens with experienced Craft Union operator Tracie Brookes as the new operator of the site.

Tracie commented: “I’ve been running pubs, primarily in the West Midlands, for many years now and it is an honour to be relocating to Torquay to run Yates. I am really looking forward to getting to know our locals and learning what they want from the venue. I’ve got plenty of ideas and am eager to make Yates a venue everyone can enjoy, with fantastic community events at the heart of what we do.”

Following the pub’s reopening, Tracie and her team will be hosting a fun-filled grand launch party to officially welcome the community back to the venue. On Friday 24th May, they will kicking off the bank holiday celebrations with a DJ from 7:30pm and exciting giveaways to get guests in the party spirit. On the Saturday, Yates Torqauy is the place to be to catch the FA Cup final during the day, before the venue transforms into an Ibiza themed party in the evening. There promises to be a thrilling roster of entertainment, from stilt walkers to music acts, there is no shortage of excitement.

Concluding what is set to be an incredible launch party and bank holiday weekend, Yates Torquay invites guests to join them on Sunday 26th for a wholesome day of bingo and live music from 4pm.

Tracie is committed to bringing events to the community and so the venue reopens with an event-filled weekly schedule that all can get involved with. On Tuesdays, guests can expect bingo in the evenings, on Wednesdays board games during the day before the venue transforms in the evening for their weekly student night. On Thursdays, karaoke lovers are welcomed and on Friday and Saturdays, guests can sit back and enjoy numerous DJ sets, live acts and local bands every week.
