A slice of nostalgia is set to hit Plymouth this week with the opening of Popworld.
Located on the city’s famous Union Street, the venue has received an investment of over £250,000.
Known for championing all our guilty pleasures, Popworld has forged a legendary status across the UK for providing memorable nights out filled with fun, laughter and the best pop tunes in town. Now, following an extensive refurbishment, residents of Plymouth will be able to let their hair down and indulge in some 90s nostalgia – the perfect soundtrack to a night on the tiles.
The refurbishment of the former Reflex venue will also see Popworld receive a revamped entrance space, with colourful lighting installed to illuminate the street and walkway to the dancefloor. Meanwhile, booths and an exclusive area for VIPs will be fitted on the ground floor, with the venue’s much-loved revolving dancefloor remaining in a prime position for boogying the night away. The outside area will also be refreshed to create a refined space for guests.
With a focus on showcasing pop classics from the 90s onwards, Popworld will also play hits from the 70s and 80s on the upper level every Friday and Saturday for those who enjoy the real disco classics. The venue will celebrate its launch with a range of special events throughout its opening week, including a CO2 Glow Launch Party and a guest appearance from S Club.
Adding to the transformation, guests will be able to enjoy a range of offers on cocktails, mixers and bottles throughout the week.
