Local community hub, the Starting Gate in Redcar is set to open its doors again on Wednesday, February 7th, after a 6-figure investment from fastest-growing operator led brand, Craft Union Pub Company. The pub will also hold a grand launch party later in the month, with live music from acclaimed local band The Fallen.
The much-loved neighbourhood pub has had a transformative refresh throughout, with new fixed seating, a complete décor refresh and a new back bar. As well as the interior décor refurbishment, the pub has also had upgraded darts and pool facilities installed, as well as 7 brand new HD TV’s for guests to enjoy all the upcoming sporting action.
With these new facilities now installed, Phil Barkley, Operator at the Starting Gate, encourages locals to get involved with the already existing pool team and is now recruiting for a darts team. As a bustling hub in the local area, this is a great way to get involved with the local community and enjoy a bit of friendly competition!
As well as the new pool and darts facilities, the pub will also offer weekly entertainment, running from Monday to Sunday, with Sky and TNT sports now shown frequently, along with offerings such as ‘Tombola Tuesday’, live music at the weekends, and sports quizzes, along with karaoke, meat raffles and much more, so there’s plenty for guests to be involved in.

On top of the new look and feel, the pub has installed an updated range of tipples for guests to enjoy, which include favourites such as Peroni, Cruzcampo, and Amstel, with hugely competitive prices, starting from just £2.25.
Phil and Celsie will also be supporting local charity Zoe’s Place, via donations at the pub. Zoe’s Place is a Hospice which specialises in supporting early-years children who have life-limiting or life-threatening complex illnesses or profound disabilities. The Middlesborough based charity is one close to the hearts of Phil and Celsie and many others in the area, and they are proud to be partnering with the hospice, and will strive to raise crucial funds for the much-needed charity.
With opening just around the corner, guests can also look forward to a grand launch weekend, taking place on Friday 23rd February and Saturday 24th February. Friday will see much acclaimed local band The Fallen take the stage from 7pm onwards, and Saturday, guests can look forward to a 70’s themed party, with an ABBA tribute band set to perform!
