The Slug & Lettuce, on Chapel Road in Worthing, has reopened its garden this week, following a significant investment, under the experienced reigns of General Manager, Justine Stenhouse.
Nestled in the heart of Worthing, the bar is a stone’s throw from the beachfront. The renovation of the garden includes the build of a brand-new outside bar. This huge bar has the capacity to serve a full drinks range including Slug’s fabulous collection of cocktails as well as spirits, wines, draught keg and bottled beers. The outside area has been revamped with new furniture that can seat up to 58 people and is decorated with new plants, shrubbery and AstroTurf to create an oasis for customers to relax in with friends and enjoy those lazy summer days over a few cocktails.
Justine Stenhouse, General Manager, said: “I am so excited by this redecoration and am delighted to finally welcome customers into our brand-new garden this week. The Slug & Lettuce is a fantastic venue in a great location and this refurbishment has injected a new lease of life into our outside area.”
The bar has ensured it complies with the new COVID-19 Secure Workplace Guidance for Pubs and Restaurants, introducing measures to protect staff and customers and ensuring the smooth running of operations.
Justine continued: “Our priority remains the safety and wellbeing of our team and customers, whilst ensuring everyone is able to enjoy and make the most out of their long-awaited visit to our pub.”
Understanding the importance of clarity for customers, The Slug & Lettuce has installed external signage clearly setting out the safety measures in place. Customers will be greeted with a warm welcome from both managers and teams, and robust COVID-secure measures, including clear social distancing measures, enhanced cleaning regimes and adhering to NHS Test and Trace guidelines; full table service with contactless payments available, customers can also order food and drinks via an app, will be in operation.
