Popular community pub, The Old Bank in Sutton, will be reopening its doors today, Wednesday 31st January following a £240,000 investment. The local hub will also be hosting a fun-filled launch party on Friday 2nd February to welcome guests back to the re-vamped space.
Improvements from the six-figure investment include a refreshed outdoor area, TV monitors in the booth seating areas and the introduction of a larger, bookable sports viewing area. As nights grow longer, brighter, and warmer, The Old Bank is the place to be for all upcoming sports events as the venue now enjoys the only outdoor TV in a Sutton pub.
In addition to the décor improvements, five new jobs have also been created within the front and back of house teams at the pub.
On Friday 2nd February, The Old Bank will be celebrating its reopening and fresh new look with a launch party and its first ever Funky Friday – a night full of 80s and 90s hits. Beloved Fizz Fridays are also making a comeback and will become an ongoing weekly staple. Customers can look forward to an entertainment filled evening which includes a three-piece local cover band, The Rebeats, so bring along your dancing shoes and dust off those vocal cords, as the trio will be transporting customers back in time as they perform major hits from the 70s, 80s and 90s.
General Manager Gail Follin has been at the pub for an impressive 23 years, and commented: “We’re so pleased to report that our fantastic team has grown, and our pub has benefitted from a number of uplifting improvements throughout. We are very excited to welcome back our Sutton community this Wednesday and look forward to celebrating with you at our launch party.”
As the pub reopens, the team are also launching an exciting, action-packed events schedule on a weekly basis. Some of the weekday staples include poker on Mondays, real ales for £2.95 on Tuesdays, boardgame night on Wednesdays, and Beat the Boss darts on Thursdays, so guests won’t be short of things to do throughout the week!
Customers are encouraged to keep an eye on The Old Bank’s social channels as the pub will be launching a Digital Sports Giveaway competition. Epic prizes include a beer tower, 1kg of wings and the best seats in the house for any game of your choice as well as a £50 bar tab that will also be up for grabs in coming months.
