The Ironmaster, on West Street in Fareham, is set to enjoy a roaring summer since reopening its doors to the local community after an investment of £180,000. The pub is operated by Carol Baker with help and support from Craft Union Pub Company.

The award-winning pub company has refurbished and rejuvenated Ironmaster as part of its ongoing commitment to putting quality pubs back in the heart of communities.

The refurbishment has seen a complete refresh of Ironmaster’s interior and exterior, in line with its original features, with the design intended to create the feeling of a home away from home. It has been decorated to the highest standard to ensure a welcoming atmosphere that its customers will enjoy. Those visiting the pub can also expect upgraded audio-visual facilities, improving sports and entertainment viewing throughout. The Ironmaster is also now home to brand a brand-new darts board and pool table.

Carol is an experienced community pub operator, running pubs for the last 27 years. She previously ran the Ironmaster as its General Manager prior to it joining the Craft Union family. Carol’s long-standing team join her in her new venture, as she continues to ensure the pub thrives within its community with an enhanced offer including an affordable and varied drinks range, all the best sporting action, pub quizzes, and live music.

The pub has reopened with clear social distancing measures and enhanced cleaning regimes in place and Carol is focused on the safety of both her staff and customers.

Carol said: “I am delighted to be back behind the bar at the Ironmaster. It is a brilliant pub at the heart of Fareham, and we’re dedicated to doing all we can to give back to the local community. My focus has always been our customers and supporting the local community, so to work with a company like Craft Union with its values so deeply ingrained in serving the communities it operates in is just fantastic.

“Our priority remains the safety and wellbeing of our team and customers, whilst ensuring everyone is able to enjoy and make the most out of their long-awaited visit to our pub.”

The pub has ensured it complies with the new COVID-19 Secure Workplace Guidance for Pubs and Restaurants, introducing measures to protect staff and customers and ensuring the smooth running of operations.

Understanding the importance of clarity for customers, the Ironmaster has installed external signage clearly setting out the safety measures in place. Customers will be greeted with a warm welcome from both managers and teams, and robust COVID-secure measures, including clear social distancing measures, enhanced cleaning regimes and adhering to NHS Test and Trace guidelines; full table service with contactless payments available, customers can also order food and drinks via an app, will be in operation.
