Beloved local, The George, Harrow, has undergone a £98,000 investment and is set to reopen on 24th April as part of the Craft Union pub company family.

The high-street favourite is a well-loved late night venue and sports focussed pub. As part of the pub’s transition to Craft Union, the venue benefits from later weekend opening hours, with guests welcome to stay at the pub until 2am on Friday and Saturday evenings. The investment into the site has also provided The George with a brand-new pool table and designated darts area for all to try their hand at some friendly sporting competition. The pub will also be welcoming a fresh roster of DJs to the site to keep guests well entertained over the weekend.

Operator Emma Wakeling has worked for various Stonegate managed sites for more than 7 years, gaining extensive knowledge, experience and upskilling through the group’s Albert’s Theory of Progression development programme. Emma commented: “I am so excited to join The George as Operator and put everything I have learnt to the test! The pub is looking fantastic following its investment and I am looking forward to welcoming back the pub’s regulars to get to know them and showcase the newest era of the pub. We are launching an exciting events schedule and there really is something for everyone, all are welcome!”

In addition to karaoke, DJ acts and live music every weekend, guests can also enjoy boardgames during the day as well as darts in the evening every Monday. The George will also be hosting several fun-filled games on a weekly basis including bingo on Wednesdays, open the box on Saturdays, and a talk sport quiz every Sunday. Additional event highlights include ‘if you wear it, we play it’ for free jukebox requests on Tuesdays and free pool all day, every week on Thursdays.

The George, which was once known as The Harrow, is a traditional pub that proudly boasts multiple HDTV screens and a top of the range sound system as well as cosy booths with screens, making it the perfect location to catch the upcoming season of sporting events.
