Popular local pub, the Gate in Caister-on-Sea, reopened doors to customers on Tuesday 6 February following a transformative £200,000 investment by the award-winning Craft Union Pub Company.
The 19th-century pub, located a stone’s throw away from Caister-on-Sea Beach, has had extensive works carried out during its short closure, transforming its interior and exterior, as well as its fantastic customer offerings.
The interior of the Gate now poses a new look and feel, having been refreshed throughout, and with sports playing a huge part in the pub, there has even been a new darts board installed for customers, along with a new pool table. If participating in some friendly competition is not your thing, then the pub’s HD TV screens have all been installed with Sky Sports and TNT Sports, so you don’t have to miss any of the live sporting action, including the upcoming Six Nations matches.
Alongside the sports offering, the pub’s weekly entertainment schedule has also been revamped, now offering a range of exciting entertainment for guests to participate in across the week, with the pub now hosting quiz nights, karaoke, disco nights and much more.
To pair with the refreshed entertainment schedule, the pub has a fantastic new extensive drinks menu for guests to enjoy. Featuring an array of beers, real ales, wines and spirits, you will be sure to find your favourite tipple at the Gate.
Ready to welcome guests back to the Gate, are Operators Darron and Shane. The duo have both run pubs up and down the country for many years and are looking forward to putting the Gate at the heart of the community and arranging the best events for those in Caister as well as organising fundraising initiatives for the British Heart Foundation.
Shane commented, “Darron and I cannot wait to welcome everyone in the local area into our fabulous pub and delve into our new offerings. I am a big sports fan and look forward to watching the games with everyone, there is a lot of fun to be had at this community hub.”
Darron said: “Our investment has breathed a new lease of life into the Gate, and we are so excited to be part of the pub’s new chapter. Shane and I are committed to providing the community a space to relax and have fun and look forward to welcoming you all for a drink when our doors open.”
To celebrate the investment and reopening, Darron and Shane will be holding a Grand Launch party on the 15th, 16th, 17th and 18th of February. There will be a music theme throughout, with karaoke from 7pm on Thursday, a live DJ on Friday playing tunes from each decade and Saturday and Sunday welcoming live artists.
