Local high-street favourite, The Foundry in Aberdeen, reopened its doors recently, after receiving a complete makeover. The site now comprises a modern look and feel thanks to a £277,000 investment from Stonegate Group, the UKs largest pub company.

As a part of the transformation, the pub has now transferred from a previously sports-focused pub, into a family-friendly food destination for the local community. The site’s interiors have been freshly painted in warm hues of copper, red, and orange to create a warm and cosy atmosphere. As well as this, the pubs seating has been fully updated to comfortable booths, creating an ideal setting for family lunch, or catching up with friends. The exterior of the site has also received a spruce up, with the outside now newly painted in red and gold, the official colours of Aberdeen Football Club.

The site’s brand-new food offering includes a traditional pub menu, consisting of full Scottish breakfasts, delicious burgers and steaks, and small plates amongst many more dishes perfect for meals out with family and friends from brunch to dinner. The pub’s new Christmas menu is full of festive favourites from hand-carved turkey to giant pigs in blankets, served with Yorkshire pudding and mash, ensuring that Foundry Aberdeen is the best place for festive celebrations.

The shiny new cocktail menu, consisting of long drinks and spritzes, paired with popular lagers and IPAs on draft, will help create unmissable evenings out for visitors. Come for the food, stay for the fun!

General Manager, Mark Joseph has been in his role for over 12 years and is excited to see the pub grow and expand its offerings for the local community.

Mark commented “The team at The Foundry are thrilled about the recent revamp, which didn’t only help in expanding our daytime offering, it also enhanced the live sports and disco nights the pub is famous for. The Foundry is a friendly venue offering delicious food, great drinks, and unforgettable experiences. We are confident the investment will help put the site on the map even more, and the pub will remain a local favourite for family lunches, disco nights, and match day visits.”

Regulars will be happy to hear that the site is still retaining the sports offerings it is known and loved for. A large part of the investment went into upgrading the site’s technology to HD sound systems. The Foundry, Aberdeen now boasts an impressive 39 TVs and 4 big screens, equipped with all the most-loved sports channels, including Sky Sports. The site creates the perfect spot to watch your favourite sports, whether it’s UFC, Rugby, Boxing, or NFL.

The pub will also now host an array of evening events, including DJ sets on Wednesdays, live Jukebox on Thursdays, and live music by local artists on Fridays and Saturdays. The site will continue hosting its award-winning ‘Boogie in The Bar’ event series, and a monthly disco event, which will take place on the last Thursday of every month, curated for people with dementia, who love to dance and engage with music. With a wide selection of activities and events available for customers, The Foundry is set to be a local favourite spot for avid sports fans and music lovers alike.

A highly anticipated community event, the pub’s reopening party showcased two local bands, with live performances, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony held by the owner of Aberdeen Football Club, Dave Cormack.
