Local favourite pub, The Brunel in Chippenham, is beginning fundraising for Pride this month, by encouraging the local community to get involved in their very own Drag Bingo night, which is now set to take place every Thursday evening at the pub, in the run up to Chippenham Pride, which takes place on 15th June 2024.
With the first Drag Bingo event set to take place on Thursday 8th of February, running right the way up until Thursday, 13th of June, with Chippenham Pride taking place on the Saturday, The Brunel will be hosting a weekly drag bingo night every Thursday to raise vital funds for the Chippenham Pride Committee to make this year’s Chippenham Pride bigger and better than ever for the community!
Local and much-loved Drag Queen Traya Buns will be the drag-tastic host for the bingo evenings, with guests in the running to win jackpot cash prizes, 2-4-1 cocktails and more, accompanied by a fun-filled and fabulous evening of laughter with interludes of comedy and cabaret.
For those who aren’t bingo fans, The Brunel will also have a Pride Fundraiser pot available for donations, where guests can contribute directly towards the cause.
General Manager Emily Southcott, along with the rest of the team at The Brunel, were keen to help fundraise for Chippenham Pride Committee after meeting directly with the committee and hearing that the Chippenham Pride Event was organised and ran solely by volunteers who rely on donations and sponsors.
General Manager Emily said: “We at the Brunel felt strongly toward supporting Chippenham Pride Committee, and we know that with the generosity of thecommunity we can help the committee to run their fabulous event. We decided to run the drag bingo as a way to fundraise for such an important cause and we can’t wait to see everybody enjoying themselves at the bingo nights.”
Tickets to the drag bingo are £2 – with proceeds being split between the cash jackpots for bingo and the Chippenham Pride Committee – and are available to purchase inside The Brunel.
