The Sutton Arms in Hornchurch have once again shown their appreciation for the street pastors regularly seen with their flip-flops and lollipops on patrol from late evening to 4am caring for and helping people who are out on the streets.

Frequent fundraisers for the charity, they handed over a cheque for £1,005 following their second regional S Factor final, a talent competition run across thirteen pubs, where they raised the funds earlier last month.

Monica Abdala, chairman and treasurer ofthe Havering Street Pastors received the donation yesterday (Tuesday 2ndMay) thanking the friendly pub in the middle of Hornchurch’s busy town centre, for their ongoing contribution.

ManagerMehmet Erguven said: “The pastors are a vital part of the night time economy in Havering and perform an outstanding role in our community.

“They have the patience of saints and care for some of the most vulnerable people at night with an unquestionable compassion.”

In 2016 the pub also raised £1,000 at the annual S Factor final and will continue to support the charity in 2017.
