Slug & Lettuce Cardiff Central is preparing to reopen its doors on Friday 30th January following a near £300k refurbishment investment from Stonegate Group, bringing a bold new look, elevated interiors and an exciting relaunch celebration to the heart of the city.
The popular Cardiff venue has undergone a full transformation across both floors, creating a vibrant, glamorous space packed with colour, texture and Instagram-worthy details.
Guests can expect instant impact on arrival, with the entrance lobby transformed to feature a dramatic suspended ceiling raft with colour-changing LED lighting, trailing foliage and statement pendant lighting.
The ground floor bar has been completely refurbished, with a striking gold-finished bar front, arched metalwork shelving, bronze-tinted mirrors, illuminated bottle displays and a large-scale mural graphic providing a glamorous new backdrop for Slug & Lettuce’s iconic cocktail offering.
Seating throughout the venue has been refreshed and elevated, with fixed booths re-upholstered in bold, vibrant and luxurious fabrics in shades of pink, teal, blue and gold. Feature circular booths have been enhanced with trailing greenery and pendant lighting, making them standout spaces for socialising. New decorative lighting, wallpapers and refreshed paint finishes complete the eye-catching new aesthetic.
Upstairs, the first floor has been reworked to create additional seating and improved layout, including a new, more ergonomic sports-viewing area perfect for enjoying key sporting moments. New feature booths framed with metalwork, foliage and dimmable lighting add a plush feel, while a striking pink, teal and gold “Funky Herringbone” floor injects a blast of colour and pattern.

VIP reopening night & what’s to come
Slug & Lettuce Cardiff Central will officially reopen on Friday 30th January, kicking things off with a VIP reopening night from 6pm–8pm. Guests can expect live music, a DJ until late and a 360-degree camera capturing all the glam moments as the celebrations continue into the evening.
Once open, the venue will continue to deliver everything guests love about Slug & Lettuce, including its famous 2-for-1 cocktails, available all day, every day. The bar will also remain a top destination for Bottomless Brunch, combining delicious dishes with flowing drinks and a lively atmosphere.
Sports fans are also in for a treat, with the venue now showing all live sport via Sky Sports and TNT Sports. From major football fixtures and rugby to must-watch sporting moments throughout the year, Slug & Lettuce Cardiff Central will offer a stylish, social setting to enjoy the action.
