Beloved Scunthorpe pub, The Comet, has reopened following a six-figure investment, marking the start of a new era for the community pub.
The pub has been completely redecorated with a full interior refurbishment, giving it a fresh look and feel.
The Comet now boasts cosy new furniture, adding a fresh sense of comfort, while a newly built outdoor drinking area offers the people of Scunthorpe the perfect spot to enjoy ice-cold pints during the warmer months.
As part of the work completed, warm festoon lighting now decorates the pub’s exterior with a cosier look and feel while the bar is now equipped with a new range of great-value beers, with pints such as John Smiths priced at just £3.
Perfect for live sport, The Comet has upgraded its amenities with new Sky Q boxes, allowing it to show Sky, Sky Sports+, TNT Sports, Premier Sports, and even sport on Prime. With a brand-new selection of HD TVs installed throughout the venue, guests can now enjoy multiple matches or different sports simultaneously.
The Scunthorpe pub also boasts a new selection of beers, ciders and wine, all at some of the most competitive price points in the area, as well as an extensive offering of no and low alcohol offerings, ensuring all guests are accommodated to.
Situated near walking spots, well-behaved dogs are welcome throughout, with this popular venue being a favourite among guests stopping by for a pint with their pet.

To celebrate reopening the pub, The Comet is welcoming the community back to the pub with a ‘Grand Launch Weekend’ for the ages. Next Friday (8th August) will feature a DJ and Karaoke with pub games, and charity raffles taking place, all to raise funds for local cause, Cash for Kids.
But the party doesn’t stop there, from Saturday (9th August) 12-5pm, the pub is hosting a western-themed ‘Ho Down’ party, which includes a rodeo ball jester and country singer performing. From 7pm, a Northern Soul Evening with a special vinyl DJ will be taking place, with the night aiming to raise as much money as possible for Breast Cancer Now through a variety of charitable initiatives.
The pub also boasts a lively weekly events schedule, featuring free pool all day on Monday and Darts League on Tuesday, with poker league on Wednesday evening from 7pm. Thursday is the popular Quiz Night, while Friday sees pub games such as Spin the Wheel being played with karaoke also taking place every Friday.
At the weekend, the focus shifts to sport, with all the big games shown live at The Comet. Saturday nights feature local live entertainment, while Sundays offer bingo and Chase the Joker, with great prizes up for grabs.
