Chorley’s Prince of Wales was the talk of the high street when a town crier took to the streets of Chorley on Saturday 17th February, to bellow news about the refurbished community pub to locals and residents.

Doors closed on 6th February as workmen moved in to revamp the pub, install the elite in sports viewing facilities, a brand new sound and interactive entertainment system, and craft beer ensuring the place to be for a big night out in Chorley.

The grand re-opening weekend, creating up to ten new jobs, started on Friday 17th of February with a local DJ and continued Saturday andamp; Sunday with Karaoke and kids entertainment.

Recently appointed manager Anna-Marie Pearson said: “The Prince of Wales is such a loving community pub – which is great because we love organising community events involving local charities. Let’s say we’ve a few exciting things in the pipeline!”

Sports fans will rejoice with both Sky and BT Sports showing through two brand new large screens and eight state of the art TVs. A sporting handheld food menu with social platters and ‘dig in’ dishes alongside table service will be available during big games. Racing days such as Cheltenham Gold Cup and Aintree will be displayed on the new screens and interactive system later this year, allowing customers to ‘bet’ as they watch!

Joining the craft beer revolution the pub is expanding their cask and craft offer with guest beers such as ‘Brewdog’, ‘New world’, ‘61’ and ‘Ship yard’ all gracing the taps. Marston’s will be on hand to explain all things beer at a ‘Meet the Brewer’ event on Thursday 23rd February.

There’s a weekly line up of entertainment and reasons to eat out every night of the week. Mighty Monday offers big plates at £4.99 and games night; Tuesday is quiz night and Burger Bar for £5.49; Wednesday turns to Mexican food and poker night; Thursday Karaoke disco and great grills from £5.99; Friday has classic dishes for £5.99 with live music DJ’s ramping up the volume for a weekend party; Saturday sees Chorley’s big night out with a local DJ on the decks and sharing planks at £7.99 and the week finishes with karaoke idol on Sunday.
