Popular community favourite, The Red Cow, Folkestone, will be hosting a hair-raising event this month to raise crucial funds for local charity ‘SNAAP’.

The charity fundraiser will be held on Saturday 27 January 2024 and will see both local punters and pub employees taking centre stage to participate in a labour pain simulator. Guests will be able to vote for their favourite local, or pub team member, to be thrust into the limelight, so guests are urged to get down to the pub before the event kicks off at 3pm to cast their votes!

Pub Operators, Kris and Sarah Brown, who took over the Red Cow a little over a year ago, will be live streaming the event on the pub’s Facebook and YouTube channels, so if you can’t attend on the day, make sure to tune in to catch all the action. The links to view will be released soon, so keep an eye on the pub’s channels for further updates.

Each participant will be hooked up to the simulator for 50 minutes and will have to test their tolerance against 25 different levels of pain. Operator Kris will also be livestreaming his reaction to the pain simulator, after receiving more than 100 votes to take part!

The pub is currently raising funds through a cash collection behind the bar, and has already raised £600 for SNAAP. The fundraising will continue throughout the month, until the event takes place, so if you’re in the pub this January, make sure to dig deep and help out where you can for the fantastic charity.

Kris, Operator at The Red Cow, commented: “We have already received a great reaction to the charity fundraiser from the local community and have raised £600 before the event has even taken place! It’s great to see the support and buzz around the event and we look forward to welcoming our locals and the community into The Red Cow later this January to band together and raise money for SNAAP.”

SNAAP was founded in 2003 by a group of parents who wanted to make a difference to the lives of disabled and special needs children and their families. The charity informs, encourages and supports parents and carers and its family focus is built to empower parents through access to the best services and support to ensure their children live the best lives they can. They also provide meals on wheels to those in need throughout the year.
