Community favourite, The Metropolitan in Didsbury, Manchester is proudly hosting the third iteration of its ‘Didsbury Doggy Social’ on Monday 6th May in collaboration with MorePaws, a community led dog-lovers network.
Guests are invited to join the pub from 12pm on the bank holiday Monday for an afternoon of fun-filled activities and socialising. All pooches will receive a chop licking good puppuccino on arrival and the pub will be decked out with plenty of toys and even a mini-agility course for any furry friends that fancy a challenge. Throughout the event a professional dog trainer will be hosting short sessions and sharing their top tips and tricks with any interested owners. The best part, it’s all absolutely free!
The Metropolitan will also be hosting a raffle for a hamper filled with dog food, treats and toys for one lucky dog to take home.

Planning for the event is well under way and we’ve got a fantastic team putting together a whole host of exciting activities for you and your favourite furry companion.”
Sam added: “Since joining The Metropolitan last April, it was a priority of mine to make the pub dog friendly as there are many dog owners in West Didsbury and I felt it was important to create a space that all could enjoy. Our Didsbury Doggy Social has become a favourite amongst the community, and this is the third dog-friendly event we have held at the pub. All are welcome, we hope to see you there!”
The pub is hosting the event in collaboration with MorePaws, a community platform and supportive network for dog owners. The platform is full of useful information such as the nearest dog-friendly venues, ultimate dog walking spots, discounts for the best pet care brands and so much more. MorePaws was created with the goal of creating a community where pet owners can form friendships and support one another.
The Metropolitan became part of the MorePaws community a year ago when it was listed as a dog-friendly site and soon after began collaborating with the network on local events.
As a firm canine-friendly pub, The Metropolitan already has plans for its next dog-focused social and will be hosting a River Mersey walk on 27th May. The pub team invites dog lovers to join them at the pub at 11am on the Spring bank holiday for a one and half hour walk that will finish at The Metropolitan.
