The long Easter weekend is nearly upon us and for one pub in Sheffield it means an extra special reason to celebrate. Yates’s on Cambridge Road is currently undergoing a significant refurbishment and is to re-open its doors on Wednesday 4 April with a circus themed launch party to celebrate on Thursday 5 April.
Yates’s designers and builders are busy working their magic transforming the pub into the latest Yates’s look with its familiar black and white logo, rich warm colours and furnishings, and a state of the art multi-media system. A new private function area perfect for parties and meetings is being installed on a first floor mezzanine area, whilst the booths, furniture and décor are getting a major overhaul.
To celebrate the new look, manager Fitz Richards will host a red carpet re-launch party for customers on Thursday 5th April, showcasing not only the new look but a new menu to boot. As the complimentary champagne flows local business guests and customers will be invited from 12-2pm and between 6-8pm, to try some of the new dishes such as the super food salad – feta, chicken or steak which is served on a bed of mixed leaves, spinach, broccoli, butternut squash, pomegranate with a lime and chilli dressing – or the Indian inspired Bombay burger.
Stiltwalkers, firebreathers and a complimentary caricaturist will be joining the pub’s very own the Circus Ringmasters (aka DJs Ozzy, Adi and Charlie) to get the party started. As the circus theme continues throughout the weekend any customers arriving dressed for the circus will be treated to complimentary champagne and special giveaway prizes. Stuart Grimson, assistant manager and organiser of the opening weekend is hoping to raise his target of £1000 in aid of the pub’s designated charity, Sheffield Children’s Hospital. “This is our second year of fundraising for Sheffield Children’s hospital. We raised £2000 last year and have set ourselves a more ambitious target of £5000 this year. There’s no obligation for customers to give a donation, we want them to come along and have a great time in our new–look Yates’s but if any one wishes to pop their loose change in the pot we’ll have them on hand at the bar”, he said.
Yates’s manager Fitz Richards added, “The team and I are excited about the re-launch of Yates’s. The brand is synonymous with partying and best on the high street food and drinks deals. With our refreshed look and new menu for Yates’s, which has this week won the prestigious Menu Innovation and Development Award (MIDAS) for the best menu and service on the high street, we will be taking Sheffield by storm. Whilst the pub is undergoing its makeover, the whole team will be busy refreshing training so that every aspect of our service is second to none. Our state-of-the-art function area, ideal for meetings, combined with our enhanced breakfast menu means Yates’s can now offer an added service for local businesses and at really reasonable prices as well.”
