Hornsey and Wood Green MP Catherine West took time out to visit the Nag’s Head bar on Wood Green’s High Road last week to see behind the scenes of the £250,000 investment that completed in March.

The Nag’s Head original name was restored after a decade as the Goose after its refurbishment lending a hand to Wood Green’s ambition to become one of the the best places to eat and drink in London, using the hash tag #loveyourlocal in all its communications. Sports, party nights, pool tables, on trend beers, gins, and simple pub food are just part of the attraction.

The local MP was introduced to the front and back of house team, learning of Stonegate’s apprenticeships and careers in management.

Ms West commented: “It was lovely to meet staff at The Nags Head and I’m sure local people will enjoy the new decor, the delicious food menu and the new pool tables. Good luck with the new business!”

General manager Alex Harris said: “It was great to meet with Catherine and show how Nag’s Head has geared up to be Wood Green’s community pub, helping to maximise the town’s huge potential. Modern pubs have just as an important place in society as ever before and we really want locals to love their local.”

Area Manager Ed Davies was on hand to give Ms West the guided tour: “We appreciate Catherine visiting Nag’s Head to see the renovation and to meet the local team.  This investment forms part of our annual £50 Million spend developing our pubs across the country providing enhanced community facilities, creating jobs and careers for people of all ages. Hospitality is an important business sector generating significant income for government and we are pleased that our local MP recognises the importance of British pubs and bars.”
