Britain’s Biggest Pub Tour (BBPT) is underway and heading to Burnley and Nelson next week. BBPT, which is in aid of Variety, the Children’s Charity, will arrive at the Ram on Burnley Road, Burnley on Tuesday, 8July at 1pm.

Each of the 620 pubs and bars from the award-winning Stonegate Pub Company will take part in the event, by organising fundraising events galore to raise money for Variety, the Children’s Charity. As well as hosting fun events at the pubs, across towns and cities from the Isle of Wight to Inverness, a giant BBPT passport will journey 5,555 miles throughout the UK visiting each Stonegatebusiness, by an assortment of unique and entertaining methods of transport.

As the largest pub tour ever attempted in the UK, excitement and anticipation for the event in Burnley and Nelson is already high with crowds of customers expected to participate. First stop for the BBPT Passport in the area is the Ram on Burnley Road, Burnley on Tuesday, 8 July at 1pm.

Five of the staff will dress up as Angry Birds and hold a bike ride for the 10 miles to the White Bear Inn, Gisburn Road, Nelson to arrive at 4pm.
Staff at the White Bear Inn will be fundraising during the day andthen will transport the passport via a vintage porsche to the next venue Popworld Church Street, Preston that evening.

Deputy manager of the White Bear Inn Sarah Ferguson said: “We have already been charity fundraising and collecting for the charity at the pub.

“As well holding a variety of events during the week a few of us will be driving the tracker in a vintage Porsche to Preston.”

As part of the fundraising 50p from the sale of special Charity tipples, Strawberry Pimm’s or a pint of specially brewed real ale, The Crawler (Golden Blonde ale 4.1 ABV) will be donated to the Variety, the Children’s Charity.

The passport will continue its tour around the country culminatingwith a spectacular party at Slug and Lettuce, Tower Bridge on Friday 26 September.
