The Queen Victoria, Bermondsey has reopened its doors, following a £200,000 investment. The fresh, new look for The Queen Victoria marks a new chapter in the pub’s history and sees nine new jobs created.

Part of the award-winning Craft Union Pub Company, The Queen Victoria’s reinvigorated mission is all about community. Craft Union, winner of Best Community Pub Operator in the 2020 Publican Awards, is working to put brilliant pubs back at the heart of their local communities, across the UK.

The Queen Victoria is open for more than just a pint. Local residents are invited to use the pub as their hub for events, clubs, work, charity initiatives and more. The team are planning a busy schedule of games nights, pizza nights, and raffles. Local businesses are teaming-up with the pub team to offer raffle prizes and to widen and strengthen the network of support across Southwark.

A new start means a new team and the brand-new Queen Victoria team are raring to go.

Aaron Burnett, General Manager of The Queen Victoria, said: “I’m so excited about the future of The Queen Vic. The team love the pub’s new look and can’t wait to show people around every time a visitor walks in the door.

“It is a new chapter and I cannot wait to see this amazing pub go from strength to strength. We are delighted to welcome guests, events and the local community again.”

The investment in The Queen Victoria also brings with it a smart, new look – inside and out.  This iconic Victorian corner pub, rumoured to have been the inspiration for TV’s fictional East End pub of the same name, retains bags of character with original features like tiling, cornicing and historic signage. While fresh, modern fixtures and fittings accompany where suitable to ensure The Queen Victoria is a welcoming, comfortable space. There are both Sky and BT Sports available across nine HD TV screens, to watch the game in comfort. A wide selection of drinks, including cocktails, are available. On tap, a selection of premium beers and ales, including offerings from the Beavertown and Camden Town Breweries, all at Craft Union’s value pricing. There is traditional picnic-style table seating in the rear pub garden, making The Queen Victoria the perfect place to escape the hubbub while still in the heart of Bermondsey.
