The Stork Hotel, Thurnham has recently undergone a £1.5 million investment and extensive refurbishment.

At the heart of the community since the 1600s, The Stork Hotel re-opened its doors this summer, following an extensive refurbishment. The new start for the pub is with General Manager, Sue Jones, at the helm. Sue is dedicated to ensuring that the pub continues to be the traditional country pub with a cosy, family-friendly environment that the community know and love.

Every effort has been made to retain as much of the original character of this listed building as possible in the refurbishment. The Stork now boasts nine ensuite rooms, including a family room. Two rooms retain original 1600s architectural features. A must visit for historic building lovers, it is the perfect place to stay whilst visiting the Lancashire countryside.

The pub’s two large gardens and function room provide plenty of space for events. There is also an on-site coffee shop and electric bike charging point, for outdoor lovers who need a pitstop on their adventures.

MP for Lancaster and Fleetwood, Cat Smith, paid a visit to the newly refurbished Stork Hotel to see how the investment has impacted the pub, and wider community, and to try her hand at pulling a pint. She commented on her website: “After such a difficult time for the hospitality industry it’s a relief to see businesses get back on their feet. I wish the team the very best in the months to come.”

A delightful English Country pub, The Stork has also revamped its food and drink menus. From pub classics like fish and chips and pie of the day to mouth-watering Sunday Lunches with bottomless Yorkies, roast potatoes and gravy or a fabulous afternoon tea, there is something to cater for every occasion.

Sue Jones, General Manager of The Stork Hotel, said: “I am so excited about the future of The Stork. It is a new chapter for the Hotel, and I cannot wait to see it go from strength to strength.

“Our local community is very important to us, and the refurbishment has been built around this. We are delighted to welcome guests, local events and the community again.”
