November 2010

Stonegate Pub Company is formed following the acquisition of 333 pubs from Mitchell & Butlers.


Slug & Lettuce in Market Square Nottingham | Stonegate Group
June 2011

Stonegate purchase the Town & City Pub company, acquiring the Yates and Slug & Lettuce brands in the process.


Stonegate Group | Tattershall Castle
2015

In June 2015, a further 15 sites were acquired from Scottish pub, bar and hotel operator, Maclay Inns, and later that same year Stonegate acquired 53 pubs from Tattershall Castle Group (TCG) including the Henry’s Café Bar and Tattershall Castle brands.


Stonegate Group | Walkabout Bar in Brighton
December 2016

Stonegate exchanged on a package of 10 JD Wetherspoon pubs and acquired Walkabout owner Intertain, adding a further 30 sites to its portfolio.


Core Bar London | Stonegate Group
July 2018

Stonegate acquire 15 sites from Novus Leisure, including landmark venues Forge, Sway, Loop and Core.

The same month, Stonegate announce the purchase of leading cocktail bar specialist, Be at One.


Zinc Fleet | Stonegate Group
January 2019

Stonegate acquire Bar Fever Ltd (Fever Bars) – 32 venues comprising Fever, Zinc and Moo Moo brands.

The same month, a further six sites were purchased from Novus Leisure.


Ei-Group-Logo
March 2020

Stonegate purchase Ei Group for £1.27bn, making it the largest pub company in the UK.

Stonegate’s portfolio is now comprised of 1,289 sites within the managed division and 3,284 leased and tenanted businesses.


February 2023

Stonegate appoint David McDowall as the new CEO.
